Perceptions, Profitability and Determinants of Granulated Cassava Packaging in Kumasi Metropolis, Ghana

Packaging does not only protect a product but also provides directions for using the product, as well relevant information about its content and nutritional value. This study was undertaken to assess Granulated Cassava (Gari) sellers’ perception, profitability determinants of packaging in Ashanti Region. The area purposively selected because active participation contribution marketing activities. A structured questionnaire administered form interview obtain primary data from respondents. Data generated binary multinomial logit regression model Garret ranking technique. results showed that there is 0.11% difference gross margin both ventures which statistically significant at 1%. Years education, legal requirement, durability material cost were factors influence choice packaging. Lack technical know-how, capital equipment lack knowledge on and/or most limiting constraints affecting Gari recommends investors should invest business since it has relatively higher rate returns compared unpackaged one.
